ARRIVAL OF THE AIREDALE.
The Circular Saw Company's s.s. Aire dale, Captain A. Kennedy, arrived in the Manukau this morning, from Southern ports, bringing a large cargo and fifty passengers. The Airedale left Wellington wharf on 4th, at 0.30 a.m., and reached Picton same day at 5.30 a.m., discharged 20 tons cargo, and sailed at 7.30 ; took pilot on board off Nelson lighthouse at 3.80 p.m., having made the passage in eight hours ; sailed from thence at 1.15 a.m. of 6th ; had westerly winds and heavy cross sea in the Straits till arrival off Taranaki at 3.15 p.m., after a fast passage of fourteen hours ; .discharged, and sailed again at 7 p.m., enteringthe Manukau at 8 a.m. to-day.
