HEAVY FALL OF RAIN Over Three Inches in Three Days Heavy rain set in late, on Monday night and by 9 a.m., d 7 points were recorded. The weather cleared on Wednesday morning and the day was sunny up, to late afternoon. Rain set in again that night and by yesterday morning a further 30 points had been recorded, making a total of 3.32 inches in three days. June Record The fall in June to date is now 5.46 inches. The fall for 1939 up to the end of May was 3.29 inches so that in Jun& the fall has been two inches more than the total for the previous five months. Rain Welcome The rain will be welcome to farmers and gardeners, particularly as conditions were so mild. A heavy fall of rain was needed to ensure good growth in the pastures in the Spring.
