SALE OF GKEEN NUTS FOR PICKLING For some years owners of walnuts trees' in and about Akaroa have found 1 that the sale of the nuts inthe Autumn has hardly recompensed : them for all their labour in gathering the nuts, washing them etc. This year a different' method has been to some. A number of young men, 28 at one time, have been in residence at Akaroa afnd have collected the young walnuts for pickling; They are in the employ of the Pioneer Factory, Christchurch and it is stated that the walnuts have been purchased to fill
