A SUCCESSFUL DANCE

CENTENNIAL FUND BENEFITS The dance held at the Oddfellows Hall on Tuesday night, organised by the Akaroa Centennial Committee was an outstanding success. The visitors to Akaroa attended and there was also a large attendance i'rom the town and surrounding disti id; the hall being crowded and over threi hundred being present. Bclull's orchestra, (Christchurch), p.ovidu! the music and the intro<l ti( i! el' some new dance numbers ve the dancers some new novelties. The i'lixcs for the three lucky spot da ne;.; were provided by Mr F. Davis and Mcsdames W. Pool, J. E. Armstrong. and \V. .Jacobson. The ladies committee decorated the stage and suppir-room with vases ol" flowers and the colour scheme for the lamp shades was cyclamen and silver. Messrs L. J. Vanjioni and G. M. Kearney were the door keepers and Messrs J. E. Armstrong and D. E. Woodill wt ix masters of ceremony. As a r; suit i.f the dance over £20 should be eurul fi.r the Akaroa centennial fund.
