Heavy Sea Fog.—Banks Peninsula! bays were submerged by an ocean fog yesterday which the sun did not penetrate all day. Higher levels were above the fog and enjoyed a day of sunshine. Borough By-Election—Nominations for councillor, to fill the vacancy on the Akaroa Borough Council caused by the departure from Akaroa of Cr. W. Hoffman, close on Friday before noon. An election, if necessary will Ibe held on Friday May 29th.
Winners of Competitions.—ln connection with the Banks Peninsula A. and P. Association, the box of chocolates competition was won by Mrs W. Rout, Little River. The box of tea was won by Mrs G. Pocock, Little River. The Banks Peninsula Collie Dog Club's competition for a rug was won by Mr T. Masefield, Akaroa.
