TAKAMATUA BEACH SPORTS.
i QOIMIMITfTEE ME^TiIiMG. A meeting of the Takamatua Beach Sports Committee was held on Monday evening when there were present Messrs F. G. Armstrong, T. Masefield I P. Aldridge, J. Waller, E. Glynan, L. ! .Shadbolt, J. .M'ackay, H. J. Moore, H. iOclell and W. H. Candy Hon. Sec j Apologies were received from (Messrs A. F. Le Lievre, W and A. ■Moore, G and F. Kearney, G. Pettigrew, W. Jacobson, and A. F. Shadbolt. Mr Masefield moved Mr F. Armstrong be elected chairman; seconded ■by Mr Odell and carried unanimously. The date of the sports was fixed for 29th. December, 1931. The Secretary reported havings written to the Akaroa and W-ainui Road Board for permission to use road and foreshore for the sports. ; The N.Z- ' Trotting Association wrote granting the permit to hold trotting events. Mr Leo. Fahey wrote suggesting handicaps should be published before! the races and it was decided to hand; his suggestion on to the handicappers for consideration. •A'lr Odell moved the following handicappers be appointed : Messrs H. J. Moore, L. J. Shadbolt and Justin Le Lievre; seconded by Mr Waller and carried. For greater convenience it was decided to open a bank account and transfer funds from P.O. Savings Bar.k nr.d authority was given to close the P.O. account. Mr L. J. Shadbolt reported that Mr Hunt would let his paddock for parking cars and for use as a horse paddock on the same terms as last year and this was agreed to. i It was decided that in competitions ;a competitor must only ride one horse ■in each event. J In ilie thread the needle race it 'was decided each competitor at the • finishing post place threaded needle in a potato. , It was resolved ladies be only allowed to ride in-the Ladies Trotting I ._
