Aeaboa Court—At a sitting of the Court at Akaroa on Saturday Inst, before Messrs G. W. Thomas and C Fredrioksen Js. P., A, Hunt was charged with assualt of Chas. Oreilly causing actual bodily harm. He was remanded for a week.' .
LiEQE Potatoes—Mr A. MoFarlane, of Akaroa, grew a fine crop of potatoes this year and one weighed 31b 1C ozs. He had a number of potatoes almost as big. and the potat' oes are of good shape and seme of the ' best grown here this eeaaon.

Hare and Babbit Dbive—At Oxford on Tuesday a party from Akaroa took part in a bare and rabbit drive organised by Mr H T Cooper. An enjoyable day was spent' and the bag totalled 218 hares end rabbits which will be froz?d and forwarded to the wounded soldiers in London
Accident.—Miss Houghton,of Akaroe, had a nasty aooident on Saturday, which might have proved more serious. She was upon a ladder attending to tne roof of her bouse, when the ladder slipped. Mibs Houyhton bad no ohanoa of saving herself and ricked her neck and shoulders. She had a severe shaking and though much be'tar is still confined to her bed.
