EASTER MONDAY.
An attractive holiday programme was shown in the Oddfellows' Hali, Akaroa, to a large audience There was a good scenic showing Tangier, and an interesting film of the "(iau mont Graphic" series. The film de picting LaFontaine's fable, "The Ant and the Grasshopper." was excellent, the grasshopper fiddling while the ant cut down trees and carried away hnge logs to the home he was preparing for the winter, "At Handgrips with Death," showed the revenge of a cowardly smuggler, who to obtain a double vengeance on a nobleman's daughter for repulsing him, and on the bead of a gang of smugglers, ab ducts the girl and suspends her over a cliff, while he tells the smuggler's wife a tale which inflames her jealousy against the unfortunate girl. Fortunately, the girl is rescued in time be fore the rope is cut right through, Other films were "Tommy's Strata gem," "A Ride for a Bride," "The Hermit Orab," and "Two Men and a Piano."
