There was an average yarding of fat sheep and larce lines of wethers met a decline in values in sympathy with London prioes. For fmall lots of wethers and all dances of ewes there a good demand on the part of thp butcher*, though toward* the close of the 8»le ewe* did nrt fell so freely. The yarding of beef comprised 215 head, of fair quality, but a number of pens of steers were in backward condition. Ther«" waß a fair sale at a slight reduction on the previous week's rates. The entry of store cattle was large, but there wern few buyers, end most of the larger cattle were passed in. McCaffrey, of Lauriston, were sold at £4 and £4 ss, and it was estimated that tho larger one would weigh 600 ibs or over.
