BAZAAR AT LE BON'S
This gatheriug was opened by Mr H. Elliott on the 3lst December. In doiug so, he rtferred to the debt, aud also remarked that the people of Le Bon's had taken up shares in the Hall very liberally before appealing, by means of a baz.ar, to the public for assistance.
The stock in trade of the bazaar was a thoroughly attractive one. It was, more' over, displayed to good effect and enhanced by ha tasteful decorative use of ferns, flags, and flowers. The strictly utilitarian element was supplied by two stalls of the sale of work, —oue attended by Mesdames T. Mclntoßh and Aldridge, and the other by Mesdames H. Barker, P. Leonardo, and T. C Oldiidge. The poultry, sheep and produce stalls were attended to by Mesers H. Elliott and Barker. The fancy g jo _ s were attended to by Mieaea Symes, Bailey, Par*
sons, Gurney, Dn.wberr.rd A. Mould. The refreshments, with good arrangements 'or dispensing tea and luncheon, were ably managed by Mesdames W, MoCullough, H. Elliott, J. Sjmes a»d G. Hall. At the Bweeb stalls, confectionery and cordials of manvlkinds were dispensed by Mbaee Oldridge, Marsh, Mould and M. Symes. The boy element among the visitors found much en'lertairment at a bran tub, conducted by Mrs W, Orotty. The attend mcc and the business were exceedingly good, the takings for the di.y amounting to- £52. At • the conclusion of the baK\ar, Mr H. Barker iPihanked all tho Jadieß and gentlemen for their assistance in he'ping to make this baziar suoh a success, and also thanked the for the able manner in which they bad attended to their stalls durirg the day. Dancing commenced at 11 p.m., and was kept up till daylight.
