KAITUNA GUN CLUB.

The above club brought their eeason to a cloce by holding a picnic and shooting competition at Mr W. F Parkinson's, K'Utuna, on Saturday week last. A most enjoyable day was spent by the members and their friends, about 200 persors being present. Those who were not shooting, rambled about in the bush gathering ferns, etc., and inspecting the new saw mi , l erected by Messrs Parkinson and Coop. The shooting wae keenly contested, and the match for the President's prize, resulted in a tie between Mr G. Field and Mr L. Breitmeyer, the latter winning in the shoot off. The winner was then presented with a saddle by Mrs W. F. Parkinson.

Mr John Coop thanked the President ('At W, F. Parkinson) on beh&lf of the Club for his generosity in giving such a u<e ful and substantia! priz9. and aldo for the use of his ground, on which to hold tho pionic, etc. ffhu President responded, and moved a vote of thanks to the Hon. Bee, Mr W. Henderson, who had performed his onerous duties satisfactorily. Daring the day, Mr T, Quealy took several photographs of the gathering. Vot?s of thanks were also passed to the committee who carried out the arrangements, and to Mr C. M. Suckling, the caterer. A sweepstake, in which the ladies were interested, brought a very successful gathering to a cloee.
