The first match of the second year, for the Peniusula Challenge .hiell, was fired othe Duvauchelle's Range, on Saturday, May 9. Chorlton bavin? won the Shield last y .r was naturally expected to come cut ou top. m but several of their men went to pieces at the long range and let Duvauchelle's win by 28 pointy after being considerably behind at the other two ranee.-. No very good kCO.es were made at 600 yards—J. Mould, with 20, being highest—the light beiny bad and a tricky wind blowi-g. The best scores at the other ranges were :—SOO yds, C. Craw 33, and 200 yds, H.
