Sir.—3ome weeks have elapsed since you published the retains of the Ellesmere Local Option Poll. A obpy of the correct, figure* from Mr Cooke, Returning Officer, has just reaohed Akaroa, and I should like to point out that, whereas, Akaroa is only credited in the Akaroa Mail with 130 no-license votes, the rstmnsshow 180 ft difference of 50 votes in favour of prohibition. The poll was a email one compared with that of 1899. Last November, the vote for continuance had decreased by 48 votes, while that for no-license only decreased by 17. Thanking you, lam etc.,
