The funeral of Mrs Jobnaon, relict ot Mr T. 8. Johnson, of Robinson's Bay, took place on Saturday. Mrs Johnson was in her eightieth year when she died, and worked ap to setenty-fire making cheese and looking after her comfortable home. Mrs "Jofanjofc and her haeband oaoae out in the Sebaetopol in 1860, and on arrival at Lyttelten her hasband was engaged by Mt Hagbee to work at the saw-mill in Bobineon's Bay. After being in the Bay for ft year Mr Johnson was offered 100 acres of land by Sir Michael Lβ Fleming in the Bay and purchased it for £600—a splendid investment. The land was heavily timbered and Mr Johnson being a practical saw-nailler made the most of it, the timber on the land paying for the property over and over again. From that time success followed Mr and Mrs Johneon's footsteps,- Mr Johnson taking up large road contracts after the bash had been cleared. They had a numeroes family, two sons Messrs S* and T. JohnsoD, and n% daughters Mrs Stewart, Mrs Le Valliant, Mrs Castle, Mrs Kelly, Mrs Lines and Mrs John Sancfeell. Mrs Johnson wss a most kindly and hospitable woman, indefatigable in trying to do all the good she eontd to her neighbours, and in fact all those with which she came in contact. Many will regret most bitterly the loss of a kiud and faithful friead in the demise of Mrs Johnson.
