THE ENTERTAINMENT.
The entertainment took place in the nddiellows . Hall, and was woll attended. The concert consisted of musie.il items in two parts. Tlie first part com> menced with an orertnre, being nicely played by Miss Hahn. Mr Ryde then sang a comic nigger aong iv character, entitled «• Off t.t> Baltimore." It wa« most amnaimtly rendered, and vociferously encored. Mr Brace then gave the fine new B<<inr, entitled "The Admiral's Broo <>," and we bave seldom heard this singer to more advantage. Mre Harrison wile very happy ii> her rendering of a Bong from "The Artist's Model,"entitled "The Uay Tom Tit." Mrs Lelievre followed with the well known ; " When other Lips," which she sang ' Tery nicely indeed;. The first part was brought to a conclusion by Mr Helberfc's < singing of" Jojab," which was excruciat- i iijj.'ly innny,and brought down the house. 1 In response to the demand for another < sonr, Mr Hplbert gf>ye " The funeral's < to»morrow," nnd we need hardly say '. intpnsely delighted his audience. His i Worship then presented the medals 1 and cnp won at the sports. i Tbs Second part began with a nigger i song by Mr .ttydo, ealided " Peter j ' fciujplp," which was most ,amnsing ? and as 1

Mr Black-andrniHiedly surpassed himwf.in this, »nd hi* brilliant effort crated quite a fmorn. T!ie pxtraordin iry uamber of animate that h« produced from an apparently empty ark wae mofit surprising. The usual dance airs hold the concert, and vrt- understand from the Hon, Sec j Mr leefcp, that the financial most satisfactbry. It is hardly necessary to mention tho efforts of Mr Leete to ensure the " dance being a success, hie energy being well known. Hβ was ably assisted by Messrs Tripe, »Ti Armstrong and othere. Mr Donald McKay proved a most effi- ■ dent M.O , the inu io being supplied by tMr and Mies (iriniwood.
