CRICKET.
To tlie Editor Sir, —Seeing that the Australian cricketers are to play in Christchurch in November, do you not think special excursion trains ought to be run from Little River to give us all a chance of them play? in Christchurch last week 1 met Mr Smith, the Hon. Sec. of the New Zealand Cricket Council, and he told me that if it was the wish ot a number of residents hereabouts he would bring* the matter un ler the notice of the Railway manager. I think a letter to Mr Smith might- bring about the result I speak of, and I hope some enthusiastic cricketers will take the matter up.—Yours, etc., B. BARKER. Duvauchelle's, 24th Sept., 1896
