Borough's share of expenses for the year had been £6 V6s, -and enclosing atatement as under :— Already sent £125 18s ; expenses £6 16a; balance sent £27 6°. Total-£l6O. The Mayor said he thought tbe expenses were moderate. From Mr E. Combes enolosing list of priceß of Tasmanian timber. 'finance. Tenders were opened aa under— Carting-E F. Lelievre 9s per day i horse and leider, extra horse and cart 7s per day, Is 3d per hour for anything leas than a day. J. Huston 93 per day horse and cart, extra horse end oart 6s per day, is 6d per hour for anything less than, a Cr Penlington asked if either of the tenderers were licensed carters. His Worship answered in the negative. Cr Penlington said that in 'that case fresh tenders■ should be called. The Council must support tho men who supported the Conncil.
