In tbe evening, the Privßts Benefit Societies' Bill passed through Oommitteu. The Wages Protection Bill waa in Committee, and progress waa reported. Tbe Govern--merit Advances to Settlers Act Amendment Bill passed through Committee, and was >repbited with amendments. AUGUBT 21.
Questions were answered, and-the Aid to Public Works and Land Settlement Bitt, whiob embodies the borrowing proposals dieoloeed in ;the Financial Statement, came np for its second reading. The debate was not finished when tbe House rose, ehorlly after mid-night,
