Chief Detective O'Connor arrested William Buckley, Fred. Green, Thos. Blake, Peter Morrison, Wm, Pethram, Wm Sinclair, James McGerty, Samuel Me Donald, Luke Buckley, and James Lewin, at Lyttelton at six o'clock this morning, on a charge of unlawfully md maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm unto one John Walker, of Richmond, at Wilson's road on the evening of. Monday last. The accused were brought to Christchurch by this morning's train, and at 1 p.m. were brought before Mr Beetham. R.M., His Worship tho Mayor of Christchurch, and Mr R. Westenra After several of the accused had been indentified, they were remanded until Monday next, bail being refused. One hundred and two residents of Lyttelton have just been sworn iv as special constables.
