ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET
Wednesday Heavy entries of fat cattle yarded, moderate entries of stores. Fairly good supply of fat sheep, and a good entry of stores. Attendance of buyers about an average only. \Fat" Cattle—A heavy entry, quality varied, but principally good. A few lines of heavy weight offering The demand wns anything but brisk, and values, if not absolutely lower, have a downward tender.cy. Steers sold at from £6 10s to £9 12s 6d forhoavy weights ; medium, £5 2s 6d to £6 5s ; hoifera and fat cowa, from £3 10s to £6 2a 6d, being at from 16s to 19s per 1001b.
Store Cattle—A moderate entry ; enquiry not r ery active ; late sales unaltered. Two year old steers sold at £2 6a ; mixed two year olds, £2 2s 6d ; yearlings 20s to 27a; store at from £2 5s to £3 12* 6d. . , , Dairy Cattle—A large entry, with only a middling demand. Good cows near calving sold at from £5 to £6 10s ; second rate. £3 to £4. Fat Sheep—A fairly good entry m point of numbers, the quality being on the whole first rate. The market opened rather weak but quickly improved, and a good enquiry was well sustained throughout lha sa'e, and values improved about Is per head compared with lnnt sales, market closing firm. Crossbred wethers in the wool sold at from 15s to 17s ; merino wethers at from 12s 91 to 14s 3d ; shorn wethers sold at from 10d 3d to 12s 9d ; •ditto ewes, 7s 9d to 11a 91 ; being for tdieep in the wool up to 3d per lb ; shorn •ditto, 2d to2|d. Store Sheep -A full market, and an active demand, most, if not all lines, being Bold at lato values. Hoggets, in wool, at 9.s 7d ; Hhorn dp, 5s Gd to 8s 3d ; eweß and Jambs, to 14s. &c.
Fat Limbs—A good supply, with & corresponding demand. Best sorts sold at from 8j to 8* 91. medium up to 7a 3d.
Pij, fl _A very small entry; late rates quite maintained. Porkers 20d to 29a, fully 3£d per lb. Veal Calves—A very large entry. Best ■calves, 12s. to 19s; inferior, 5s to 7s.— Press.
[By Electric Telegraph.] Me?srß Matson & Co. report as follows : —Small market of fat sheep, and, tiftdo being bare of supplies after the lapse of a fortnight, the sale resulted in a rise of Is per li9ad. Good eborn wether mutton, 2£d per lb ; ewes, 3d. A few unshorn sheep, 2f i to 3d. Fat lambs met with a good sale, rates being upheld, 6a to 9s 6d. Store sheep pens well filled, chiefly young sheep; very few unsold, but demand a shade easier. A lurge entry of beef; quality generally second-rate, with a rather dull sale; pricf-a slightly easier. Considerable number of store cattle yarded ; demand only f'l.ir. and rites unaltered. _____
