Prime shorn crossbred wot hers brought 11s to 12s GJ ; mixed lines, 10s to 11s; shorn merino wethere, 7s to 8s Gd, or equal to If i] to 2 1 per lb. In stores, one large line of merino wethers were turned out unsold, but most of the others were placed. Crossbred conptas, in tho wool, up to 17s 9d ; other clauses at rates as per description. For beef there was a very drugging sale, nnd values suffered a considerable decline from late transactions. An absence of competition was the order of tho day, and the various lots sold were purchased by the trade comparatively speaking at their own pricen. Mr Birdling's 20 steers brought an average of about £7 15s per head ; a stnn.ll consignment of pood catt ! e from Longbeach, £7lOsto£lo 15s. &c, In storosa slight improvement was noticeable, but values are still very low, with but little prospect of much improvement being shown this season.
