', Mr M'Phail waited on the Board in reference to a supply of pipes for the culverts ■'Mount Bossti road contract. Ctprk was instructed to inform Mr M'Phail as to the size and position of the the culverts. Mr M'Phail also wished to know how he was tcr> break/- down rMr Bhodesj gorse fence, near McKay's house. It arranged that Mr M'Phail should be instructed as to this matter in a few days. " Mr Broiigh was in attendance to put in a letter requesting the Board to settle the claim of himself and Mr David, for the lioiseshoe-bend contract, in accordance with the recomme"hdation of the Engineer. It was decided to postpone consideration of the letter for a week, when a special meeting would be held for the purpose. CORRESPONDENCE. Letters were read— ■. . i From Mr 11. H. lihodcs, in reply, stating that he should require £20 an acre for any land the Board might require in excess of what was given in exchange. Alao the additional fencing to be paid for. Eesolved that the offer be accepted. From W.: Montgomery, Esq., M.H.E., stating that he had made; enquiries of the Colonial Treasurer as to the payment of the subsidy due to the Board', and had learived.-4h-at-it wo-uld be -paid as-soon ac ■the accounts were made up. From 11. 11. -Fenton, Esq., reporting that he had inspected Kenny's contract, and that it had not been completed to his satisfaction. -1 lie recbinmended the Board to put tnori on to complete the work. Mr C. Green, asking that something might be done to the upper part of the Long Bay road, immediately, as it was hardly passable in wet weather. The matter to stand over for the present.

From Messrs Wise and Co., asking for certain information for insertion in their New Zealand Directory.

The Clerk was instructed to furnish the information required, and to order a copy of tho publication.' bull's road.
