To the Editor of the Auckland Times.

Sir.—" The more you stir the more yon stink" says one of those few who wrote for all time, and this observation forces itself upon us upon reading the Correspondence which has lately taken place, and been published in your paper and the relative to the Bank overdrawn accounts, to an amount that constitutes a capital, and for what purpose?— to swell our imports— to enrich one man—to blind our colonists (and we have some) to the fact that by their exertions the Colony must live and prosper ; this it does by the apparent facility in which we become possessed of the trash we want bom abroad ; but the reckoning day must come. Generous Bank. U you do this for individuals, what would you do, towards collective industry and enterprise, in enabling parties to prosecute endeavouis to occupy the thousand and one useful channels ot enterprise, and to ntake available the immense resources of this tine country.
