SCOUT NOTES

We have had two parades so far this year and both have been well attended,, there being 39 at the first parade ond 50 at the second. We extend a hearty welcome to the' following boys who have joined the troop this year, namely: B. Pryor. K. Thompson, W. King, D. Tohill J. Mountney and D. Lawrence. We extend our congratulations to P.L. J. Earwaker, P.L. P. Robertson and B. Wilson on their creditable effort in passing their Swimmer's Badge examination. Our thanks to Mr A. Armour for acting as examiner. I might add that any boy over the age of 10 years and 6 months is eligible to join the troop and that all are welcome. Last Thursday one class of boys was learning tent repair and maintenance. This class will continue with this work until the tent in hand is in good repair again. There were classes in pioneering, signalling, first-aid and in tenderfoot test work. It is hoped to commence interpatrol cricket in the near future. The troop will be divided in two, a captain to be elected to choose a team from the thirty boys available. The games will be played on Saturday mornings.
