(From Our Own Ccrreopondent.) Football. Giminerburn had a runaway victory against Becks on Saturday "winning by 49 points to nil. As the score, indicates the game was too one-sided to give tietails of the play. Ranfuvly defeated Naseby by 9pts ;o nil after a very ragged game. One 'spectator fittingly described the game as a jumble of players from start to finish. Very few concerted movements were witnessed neither team showing anything like last year's form. Waipiata after a very close struggle defeated Oturehua by Spts to 3.

The recentlyfunned club has good prospects in front of it. The members have been working on the links and everything is well in hand for the opening day on May 24. New members are daily applying for the right to play on the links. It is predicted that the popularity of this winter sp->rt will soon have no equal in Hanfurly. Weather. i : •- The weather has been perfect for the past mouth but perhaps a change will be on hand any day now as some of the old weatlier prophets have predicted heavy suow in the back country. A Grade.—Waipiata v. Ranfurly; Gimmerbum-Patearoa v. Ida Valley; Naseby v. Becks. 4 A forecast of the result is that Waipiata, Gimmerburn and Naseby should secure wins.

B Grade.—Ranfurly v. St. Bathans; Middlenmrch v. Gimnierburn-Patearoa; Kyebura v. Hyde. We understand that Hyde has withdrawn from'the competition. This is very unfortunate. Forecast of results: Ranfurly should beat St. Bathans and Gimmerburn should regisfer a win against Middlemarch.
