GOLF.

A meeting of- delegates from Cue golf clubs in Central Otago was held at Cromwell ou Monday afternoon when thj) following, were present: Dr Gihnour (chair), and" Mr X. M'Lenuan (Koxburgh), Messrs Harlow and E. George (Clyde), Watson, and Ellis (Alexandra), Parcel! and E. Jolly (Cromwell), It. Butcher and I. Nicolson (l'oolburn), Dr Scrymgeour and Mr Haig (Becks) and Mr J. Davidson, secrotary pro tern. A letter front the Wanaka Club secretary regretting that his club could not be.represented at the meeting was read, and approval of the object was given. At the outset Dr Gilmour outlined the object of the meeting which was the result of the efforts of Messrs Harlow and Davidson, of Clyde. 'The forming of a controlling body for golf in Central Otngo was thoroughly discussed -and was carried unanimously. Kules governing the constitution of the body were dealt with and approved These will be referred back to the clubs for confirmation. It was decided that the membership to the association be free with a levy of £1 per club. An executive was elected. President, Dr Gilmour, and Dr Scrymgeimr, Messrs Harlow, M'Lennan and J. Watson.

The boundaries of the Association AVere extended juul , eover the whole of the "electorate with TapanuwttcMsji. , It was made perfectly clear tliat-»U clubs must be affiliated with the New Zealand Golf Association which body will sanction . the formation of the new association which will be run on lines similar "to the King Country As-

sociation. , The minutes of the nieetiitg will be forwarded to all club secretaries within the boundaries and club secretaries artasked to bring the matter before their committees and give the association secretary the opinion of clubs which Were not represented at the meeting. The forming of rules for championship play wilt bo. dealt with by .the executive at its first meeting. * The next annual meeting will be hold at Alexandra. A very hearty vote of thanks to the conveners—Messrs Davidson and Harlow—and a vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting. Next Monday afternoon the first executive meeting of the reeentlvformed Central Otago Golf Association will be held in Alexandra.
