At the Council meeting on-Monday night Cr H. Munro referred to the chopping down of trees in the borough. A popla? tree, some six incfies in diameter had been chopped down onthe outskirts of t,he borough by some irresponsible .person. The Council's views ou the matter were very strongly voiced and woe betide any person who violates the regulation regarding trees in the borough.
