BOWLING.
Very little interest was displayed in bowls over Easter, owing no doubt to the absence of a large number of bowlers at the exhibition. The usual influx of Easter visitors was for the same reason very small as most are taking advantage of the holidays to have a further brief inspection of the " big show." -. J- ; The three days Easter tournament at Cromwell did not eventuate owing to lack of support. Competitions for the season are at an end. Cromwell has the honour of the centre shield, the singles championship, and the rinks, Clyde has the Jolly Cup. On Good Friday the holders of the Pioneer Feathers (Simcoe, Ashley, Jack and Hewitt) were defeated by a rink comprising Chapman,, Hodgson, Lewis and O'Kane. Progressive pairs were played on Easter Monday, when six pairs entered. There wers four' games played, W. Duncan and C. Chapman winning with three wins and one loss. In the Handicap Singles competition W. Simcoe beat W. T. Campbell in the semi -final. Lewis and Simcoe meet in the final.
