Alexandra players travelled to Bannockburn last Saturday but the weather which was not too promising

when the team left, became very much v worse aa the afternoon advanced, and sifter a roll or two on the Bannockbunp. green it was decided not to proceed with the game. Otago Central Centre will be represented at the interprovincial match Otago v. Southland to be played at Tnvercargili by the following team : P. Miller, H. Stevens, R. Bringans, Dr Shore (a). Another unsuccessful attempt was made to wrest the Pioneer Ferns from the holders, by a team consisting of E. Stevens, W. Duncan, Jn. O'Kane and E. Mai sUn (s). The game was only three-fouiths completed when darkness compelled a finish. The holders were then 6 or 7 up and having easily the best of the play. The holders have hung well on to this trophy, practically since the beginning of the season, defeating allcomers, the holders are W. Pierpe, E. Murphv, W. Hewitt and A. Richards

The local club Championship Singles competition is now completed, the winner proving A» Richards, who came through all his games with only one defeat, losing , one game in his section. <|Lle is therefore the winner of the gold medal presented by Mr H. Hesson, last year's champion. The centre Champion of Champions match for the Harraway-Best Cup is to be played at Roxburgh to-day (Wednesday).

The Handicap Singles competition has still six competitors left in— W. Pierce, J. Pratt, A. Lawry, R. Hewitt, T. Gilchrist and J. Mitchell. These players are asked to posh on with their remaining games as the season is advancing. Four rinks of visiting bowlers, being two each from the Palmerston and Waikouaiti Clubs are dcing a tour of Otago Central, and will arrive in Alexandra to play a match with the local club on Tuesday afternoon, 14th inst. The visitors play Bannockbum and Cromwell on the Monday, and Clyde on Tuesday forenoon, and go on to Naseby after playing Alexandra. Cromwell come to Alexandra on

Saturday, when a good game should result. By defeating Clyde last Sat„*urday Cromwell are now sure winners the Centre Shield, having come all their centre matches so far without a loss. It will be up to Alexandra, in a friendly way, to try and break that record by defeating them on Saturday.
