SUMMER COLDS.

An excellent way of utilising odds and euds of soap, which accumulate in every household, is to collect these and keep theui till you have a small jar full. Place the jar—an old stono jam jar will do excellently—in a pan of boi'ing water and boil till the soap is dissolved, adding a littlo pure olivo oil, and cutting up the soap into tiny pieces that no hard pieces remain Stir in the jar till quito smooth, add! a few drops of perfume, and pour while still liquid into a wooden soap bowl.
