Mr Bobert Barton our-new acting Town Clerk arrived in Alexandra last Friday. '" ' Friends of Mr and Mrs Duuisday will be pleased to know that both are making satisfactory recovery from the effects of their recent motor spill. We are pleased to be able to report that Sergeant J. G. one of our local boys, sgn, of, "Mr and Mrs A. Kennedy, is / 'progre i ssing favourably. Sergeant./ Kennedy was badly gassed but latest report to hand this week mentions that' he has been removed from the serious ill list, aud been transferred from France to the New Zealand General Hospital in England. We trust the parents may continue to receive favourable reports. It is reported that Dr Turubull of Clyde has, decided to remove to Christchurch. Our Clyde friends and the district generally will, we« feel sure, be sorry to lose him. . . , ',. V
