CENTRAL OTAGO A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL SHOW.

"A glorious day " was the general comment of all who wended their way to the annual show or the Central Otago A. and P. Society, held at Omakau last Friday. The countryside was looking lovely, farming prospects were good, feed was plentiful, nature seemed to aid the officials to make this year's show a record one. From n o'clock the crowd started to arrive, and kept coming in a' continuous stream till the show ground by one or two o'clock had quite an animated appearance. One could not but notice the large number of motor cars, which spells progress and prosperity in the district. Everyone was out for the day, and it was quite interesting watching the meeting of old friends. The hearty handshake and • hows' things ' forms no small feature of the show, and is of particular attraction to the old folks. The friendly chat, the comparing of notes, the discussing of prospects, is part and parcel of the days' outing. The buffet, the lolly and fruit stall, tea rooms, shooting gallery, hoop la, all added to the life of the show and all were well patronised. ' A real good show' was the verdict on every hand and the office-bearers and committee are to be congratulated on the success, the President Mr S. T Uren, Secretary Mr Duggan and the Treasurer Mr S. A. Stevens being worthy of special mention.
