The poorest one-fourth produced an average of 132 l-31b of fat per cow Now, bow many of the poor kind will it take to return the same profit as 25 of the best kind ? It will take just 1021. Let us use the Babcock test and scales that we miy no longer be tied to the wrung cows. Let us weed out the par sites and turn them over to the butcher. Think of the condition of the farmer's mind who will keep 41 cows to produce as much net proii as one good cow ought to produce The Wisconsin Dairymen's Society has organised the cow-testing association for the purpose of putting light in place of darkness, giving a farmer at small cost a chance to know what his cows aie. This great truth needs to be tubbed in until the great mass of non-reading, non thinking men who keep these poverty-producing cows wake up."
