The Kelly Gang.
The story of the notorious Kelly Gang has been told nuny times and iu various fotms; but what claims to be the first story of the perfoimince of that little band of criminals is being written by Dr Fitchett in "Life." The story will run into three chapters, and the ii'St appeirs in the October number just to hand. Handled by such a writer, the history of the Kellys makes fascinating reading, and is not of the kind to produce a crop of miniatuie Ned Kellys. Dr Fitchett has obtained his information from most reliable sources, and the story of the first murder, followed by the robbery of the bank at Euroa, makes grim leading. We shall look forward to the story of the capture, which is promised for next month. Following On the heels of the Van Dusen detective stories a new series begins in the October number. Captain Hayes takes ihe place of the Professsor as the central figuie in the series, and the writer is an Australian, Mr Albert Dorriugtou, who is now iu London. Each chapter is a complete graphic story, and No. 1 fells how Ciptain Hayes outwitted the villany of some Chinese pearl thieves in the South Seas. This promises to be a notable collection of stories.
