LOYE'S BIRD. A BOSG. The B>rd o*. Love hath built his nest Within my breast. Boskcd on my happy heart he lies, Nor aver flies; Sat, folding close his golden wings, St sings and sings, And I n» F er weaiy of his song The whole day long. And if I waken In the dark, Like some glad lark dinging his way to heaven, I hew His rapture clear; Till all my sool within me seems To melt in dreams Of sneh hit liable delight, I bleu the night. Fails o'er hill and vale and shore ; Bitting lonely, listening sadly, To the ocean's ceaseless roar.

When the dusk of evening's oreeping, Mingling in the ocean wave, Bongs of triumph, sounds of weeping, Aie the rt quiem of the brave.

Sometimes in the burning noonday. Idly watohing by the strand. I can bear the rippling wavelets Singing softly to the sand:

Sometimes softly, sometimes sadly, Whispering the grand old song; Bat their seoret, few can guess it— Only those who love them long

Ob, what voices intermingle In the waves that beat the shore! Telling of the ages vanished, 0! the days that are no more.

Now the son in glory setting, Now the dusk oreepa o'er the sky, Loader, loader sound the voioes From the days that are gone by. Marjoey Angus,
