Bannockburn.

(From our own correspondent,) The most noteworthy event in the history of this place, during the time that I have been " Your Own," ocs curred on Friday, the 26th ult, when the return of Mr J Horn with his newly-wedded bride was celebrated. The Bannockburn Hall was engaged for the occasion, and was splendidly decorated. In the afternoon Mrs'' Horn (mother of Mr J Horn) gave an " At Home," and a large number?of old friends of Mr Horn were present. In the evening a dance was and needless to say the place was crowded. During an interval in the dancing, Mr W Par cell, on behalf of the inhabitants of Bannockburn, presented;Mr Horn with a very handsome and expensive silver tea and coffee service as a token of the esteem with which they regarded him. Messrs Parcel and Barrowclough spoke of tb6 many sterling qualities of Mr both in his private and public lifiS, and wished him long life and all tjhe blessings that man can receive. ; tMr Horn, who was visibly affected, made a very feeling reply, and thanked all the people for, l the sincerity of their manner in making the presentation, and hoped that he! would always be able to get on in futurei as "well as he had done in the* ;jpjjp the local people, Dancingw'a'sfclptf resumed, and was kept briskly under the efficient control: of Mr J Flynn, .Music was supplied Miss Graham (piahb|Misses P and 'Si Hancock (violins), and Mr A .Qlark' {accordeon), and was exeellieiQt in every detail.
