Mb David Rankin, Missouri, United States, is credited with owning the largest cultivated farm in the world. It contains 23,000 acres, and is all tilled under the owner's supervision. His motto is "Thou shalt not sell corn," and he rigidly adheres to it. He has not sold even one kernel in his life, because it is contrary to his principles and experiences ; he fattens his stock with it. He started in life with a colt his father had given him and is now a millionaire. He traded the colt for calves and with two steers he commenced tailage operations on a farm of eighty acres he had purchased on toe payment,
