Mr Wilmot, Government surveyor, last week surveyed the race-course reserve recently gazetted, and it is the intention of the Alexandra Jockey I Club to immediately lay off a new track, which will be sown down in grass and clover. The fencing of the reserve will also be proceeded with shortly. We have been requested to state that the ground committee of the club will visit the ground this afternoon to arrange for laying off the course, when all members are requested to be present. The programme of the Cromwell Jockey Olub has been published. It contains (says the " Argus") one or two alterations from last year s, which will tend to cause greater interest in the races. The programme now contains a couple of short distance trots, which should bring big fields and give the trot flutter horses a chance. Trimolite, an old racehorse well known on the goldfields, died at Winton last week.
Mr A. J. Oibbs has been appointed handicapper to the Maniototo Jockey Olub.
