In connection with the Alexandra Methodist l hurch, a social gathering is to be held next week. The next English and European mail, via 'Frisco, closes at the Alexandra post office on Sunday next, at 7 p.m. Mb J. Messrs Hesson and Son are having their premises in Limerick street installed with an acetylene gas lighting plant. The adjourned annua! meeting of the Alexandra Jockey Club will be held at the Caledonian Hotel on Tuesday evening next. The Clyde and Alexandra football teams meet at Clyde next Saturday. Cromwell and Alexandra meet at Alexandra on the following Saturday. The clerk of the Court will visit Alexandra on Friday. 4th September, at 2 p.m., for the purpose of issuing summonses &c, for hearing on Court-day, 14th September.
