Presentation.

——«. _ On the eve of her departure to take up her position aa assistant teacher in the Albert College, Auckland, Misa Alexander (who for nearly two years haa been first assistant in the Alexandra School), was the recipient of a presentation from the school children and the staff. The presentation took the form of a handsome Kaiapoi travelling rug. In 0 making the presentation Mr Closs, the headmaster, referred to Mias Alexander's ability as a teacher and expressed regret at her severing her connection with the school. He was sorry to part with one who was ao painstaking and thorough in her work and whose relation with the staff had been of the happiest. It gave him great pleasure to assure her that she carried away with her the respect and esteem of the staff, the school children and their parents. He begged her to accept, as a small mark of that respect and esteem in which she was held, a travelling rug which, no doubt, she would find serviceable on her lone; journey to Auckland, where he wished her every success in her profession and happiness in life. The children then sang, " For she's a jolly good fellow," after which Miss Alexander thanked the teachers and the children for their uniform courtesy and kindness to her while she had been among them, assuring them that Alexandra would ever remain aa a green spot in her memory. Three cheers were then given for Miss Alexander, all wishing her a pleasant journey and success an her new sphere of work.
