[first page/s missing] as me as you said the Wakapero would be the place but the only sight there has unfortunately been allowed to go into other hands now as McDougald and Kinross have it and all the bush and the onley place where watter could be got. I have lost all taste for it. If the bush had been secured or part of it as I was always under the impression it was all would be well. It grieves me very much the loss of the bush and the loss of that piece of land. The very trees that I gave myself to the sheephard that was at that wharrie where the boundary ought to come was loaded with peaches this year. I would think that according with native custom would bear some weight with them in insisting on your getting it as you first held, or Alex held it. That is what I want you for mostley to see if you can settle that matter if not done now it is gone forever besides there is many other things I would like to see you about.
