Wellington March 10th, 1849 My dear McLean, I received your note dated Manawatu the 6th only yesterday I find that you had written to the Governor on the 28th intimating the time of the Meeting. I waited until this morning to know whether he intended my coming up and as nothing has been said by His Exy. I conclude he prefers my remaining - the matter could not have escaped his memory as he has given little Ormond leave for a day or two with Thomas and Collinson.
