Copy. Ohinemutu April 19 1875. Sir, I have to inform you that having obtained leave of absence and the present being the most convenient time to avail myself of the priviledge and having pledged myself to the Government that the Public Service shall not suffer in consequence of my being separated from you for a time, I beg to suggest to you the advisability of your attending to sundry matters at Taupo with which you are better acquainted than myself, namely the making out of reserves in Runanga No.2 and Tauhara Middle Lease, in order that we may be able by and bye to recommend to Government the permanent settlement of the proposed reserves within the blocks in question. I shall also be glad if you can make it convenient to define by Survey, the boundaries of Tauhara Middle and Tauhara North Blocks, purchased by us, and on my return I shall be in a position to explain fully to the Natives interested the nature of our suggestions and the conclusions at which we have arrived. I have the honor to be Sir Your obedient servant. (Sd.) C.O. Davis. H. Mitchell Esq.
