Cooper's news yesterday about the Wairarapa settlers sending their families into town naturally alarms me very much for the safety of our folks at Wangai Moana, altho' I don't think they will be among the obnoxious people. I fear this movement may bring us troubles unless matters are managed with a very prudent hand. I suppose you will now hurry off as fast you can to the seat of trouble but I hope to see you here for a night before you go, If you can manage to work off Worgan's matter and also Tanner's payment for Rent and before you go I think it will conduce to satisfy the Natives that we are determined to see justice done to them in every instance.
