New Plymouth, 22nd June 1847. Sir Having occasion (as Agent for the Executor of Richard Barrett) to take possession of the personal Estate of the deceased, and anticipating some opposition from the Ngamotu Natives, I have to request that you will be pleased to explain to them the necessity of allowing me to proceed without molestation, and also that you will name the day upon which it will be convenient for you to see the Natives, in order that I may be present at the interview.
