New Zealand Company's Office. New Plymouth. October 14, 1847. Sir, Having been present on Monday last, when the Natives, from whom you purchased the Block alluded to in the letter I had the honour to receive from you dated 12th. September, signed the Deed of Conveyance to the Government and received from you the first instalment of the purchase money, I presume that the land comprised in that Block may now be considered as placed at the disposal of the New Zealand Company by the Government, and I venture to hope that the official notice thereof will be conveyed to me at the earliest possible period. As there will however be a meeting of the Purchases from the Company at this office tomorrow in pursuance of a notice I published to that effect a few weeks ago, I have the honour to submit to you, that it would be very desirable I should be enabled to inform the meeting at what time the final transfer will be made to the Company, in pursuance of His Excellency the Governor's arrangements with the Principal Agent and my predecessor last March; and to respectfully request you will favour me with the information for that purpose. I have the honor to be Sir, Your most obedient servant, F.D Bell
