Wairoa April 13th 1865 Dear Sir Major Lambert will be able to tell you all the news about our proceedings here I am happy to say that I found the Natives in as good order as I could expect I enclose a letter or two which will show the state of things at the Mahia (they are private I promised that they should not be seen) I am in hopes that all will go well yet - If fifty more muskets could be sent up I should like to have them at once - The Hauhau will be here on Saturday - Will you let the steamer come again as soon as possible - If The three fifles could be spared they would be acceptable Kopu is disappointed at not getting his Kopu is urging for about fifty more muskets for Kohes party which I hope can be spared I have no time to say more I will write again in a day or two.
