Wellington 28th Nov My dear Donald I see by the papers that the 'Egmont' is going up to Napier today. I have really nothing to write about but I suppose you will be growling if you don't hear from us. I saw Mr Strang yesterday. He is getting very frail and feels giving up his office very much. The little carriage is a great comfort to him. Have you heard from Douglas by this mail ? Mr Strang has had no letter. Mrs Fizgerald and one of her children took luncheon with us yesterday. She is a nice person and quite a lady. Sir George Grey, it is said, leaves today for East Coast, Napier and Auckland. Robert is quite well again and most attentive to his office. Mr Buckley has gone to Nelson, Robert not being able to get away. The town is very quitet [crossed out] quiet and weather cold. "Chussan beg" how is he? I hope Annabella is keeping well and what is Archy going to do? I am anxious about them. I am so glad to hear that Mrs Kinross is so much better. I have turned a great gardener now which is a most pleasant employment and Mr Robert, poor man, thinks that I am so clever but how far short of that. Always your aff C Hart
