Stanlake Mauku 2 Feby. 1870 To the Honble. D. McLean M.H.R. Dear Sir I understand that it was probable you would visit Waiuku and if so should be most happy to see you here and give you such accommodation as our Cut will afford -- The last time I saw you in this neighbourhood was not on a pleasant occassion I should have been well pleased to have gone into the House of Representatives to give your Ministry my warmest support and Mr.Vogel suggested to me standing for Francklin, but I rather feared a Contest. If at any time you consider that I could be useful to you in a seat in the other House I shall be your Humble Servant and as I fully approve of your Policy might be useful -- At all events I shall at all times feel a sincere interest in the welfare of your Government. It would give me great pleasure tosee you -- We had but a short visit from my son Mr.Wickers I beg to remain, Dear Sir Yours faithfully J. Crispe
