Napier October 19/70 Dear McLean, I have just recollected the rent for the House was due on the 9th of this month and I pay today in to your account at the Union Bank £ being the rent less one or two small amounts I have paid for you as on other side. I have thought over what I will do in respect to going on with my official work and have come to the conclusion I ought to work on to the next session of the Assembly so as to do what I can to assist in starting the public works on but I cannot afford to keep up an establishment in Napier so we shall have to give up your House say in six months time when Mrs. Ormond will go back to our own place and I shall manage somehow.
